In the course of moving, the usage of tape in packaging is very high making it crucial to the moving process. Tape is usually used at the last stage of packing to bind the product or hold other packaging materials. It provides extra protection and ensures that the material used to pack stays put. After packing the items in the various moving boxes, all the boxes have to be sealed with tape. There are a number of varieties of tape available.
Tape Types
Easy-tear Tape - a clear, all purpose tape that requires no scissors or knife to cut it.
White Flatback Tape - used for sealing and labeling, it is the best choice for moving boxes because you can write on the non-adhesive side of the tape. The white background facilitates easy reading.

Packaging/Mailing Tape - a good tape for moving, storing or mailing. A single roll of tape can assemble up to 12 boxes.
Packaging paper Tape 1 - easy to tear by hand and sticks easily with no gum or water needed.
Paper Packaging Tape 2 - lightweight packaging tape which is perfect for use with smaller boxes. The tape does not stick to itself and does not require any dispenser as it can be torn by hand.
Shipping/Strapping Tape - best for strapping and is an added protection to the moving boxes.
Tape Dispenser - an object that holds a roll of tape and has a mechanism on one end to easily cut the tape. Tape dispensers vary widely per the tape they are used to dispense. The most common are clear tape dispensers. They are usually made of plastic and some are disposable.
Using It
Tape dispensers are the perfect combination to seal boxes with packing tape. Usually a tape dispenser holds a standard 3” core of tape and comes fully assembled. It is lightweight, made of steel or plastic and lasts for many years. A tape dispenser eases the sealing work considerably. The tape can be fixed on to the dispenser and it comes off easily so thus it will not hamper the packing process.
The tape and tape dispenser go hand in hand. Using a tape dispenser saves a considerable amount of time. Tape dispensers that are used at home are usually lightweight. Based on specifications and benefits, different forms and types of tape are used to package the different goods and boxes. Good sealing and taping of all household products ensures a safe and damage free move.
